The practice is a training practice specialising in training Doctors to become GPs, and medical students to become doctors.
From time to time other Health Care professionals are trained within the practice, eg Practice Nurses, District Nurses and Health Visitors.
Our Advanced Nurse Practitioner provides pre-bookable appointments for seeing many conditions historically seen by the doctors, though currently does not see under 1 year olds, patient with depression of other mental health conditions or issue sick notes.
Our 3 Practice Nurses are available by appointment to provide a full treatment room service including with Chronic Diseases, in addition to operating our triage telephone call back system for urgent same day problems and Acute Illness which are bookable through our triage service. They also advise on foreign travel and vaccinations.
Our Health Care Assistants are able to undertake blood tests, New Patient Checks, ECGs and blood pressure checks.
The Practice Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the Practice. Please contact her if you have any suggestions for improving the service or if you have any complaints.
IT Administrators support the data information, recalls and disease management, system set up and maintenance of the practice computer Emis Web system.
The receptionists are the first point of communication for any enquiries. They arrange appointments for the doctors and deal with enquiries from all outside agencies. They prepare and distribute repeat prescriptions and deal with all general enquiries. The staff are trained to take essential details sympathetically and in complete confidence.
Our attached midwife provides antenatal and postnatal care with the doctors. Clinics are held at Centre during the course of the week. Please contact the Practice for details.
The local District Nursing team works with the Practice and are involved in the care of patients who are housebound and unable to attend the surgery, but need nursing input in the community. The majority of their workload is the chronic disease management, the terminally ill and patients who have recently been discharged from hospital. If you feel that you might need their involvement please ring them direct or speak to your GP.
A team of Health Visitors and School Nurses can provide expert advice for families with young and school age children.
Please note that none of the attached staff are based at the Sandringham Practice.
